Deviousness |
One of the objections would that women would not wear that headdress. Of course the same could be said of a soldiers uniform, or firefighters turnouts, used in a pinup. Yet they don't draw the same controversy. I could see arguments being made for both tradition and sexism.
For the religious significance, pictures of a nude woman with a cross don't get as many objections. I have to wonder what that means. Would it be desensitization, or a comment on the value that different people place on their religions?
When a read the comment about the feathers representing achievements, I got to wondering what the feathers would represent today. I see these headdresses at pow wows, yet there are no wars in our country. Are those who wear them soldiers or police? Do thier deeds compare with the man 200 years ago defending his people?
Myself I would not have put a woman in this headdress, it seems kind of cheesy to me. I am not sure I would say it is wrong, just not my normal style. Myself I would like to do a more traditional scene from before European cultural contamination.
the colours are blowing my mind
