Standing on that beach watching the clouds roll by it seemed heaven and hell were warring in the night sky and good was pushing the darkness far out to sea.

Mostly because the second one looks really fuzzy and this one is clearer...altho the sky looks a bit fuzzy.

Some other good reasons would include:
in small view it looks like a digital painting, but in full view you can tell that it isn't.
It also has a painting like way of blending the dark and light colors in the sky and water.
Also the Gold of the rocks/cliffs look amazing against both the light and dark blues.
and finally 'cause you are an amazing photographer.

That looks very good, but out of curiosity, if you were running such long exposures, why the high ISO? I think you could've pulled off 100ISO and have saved yourself the noise.

But again, beautiful compositions.
